General Summary: Responsible for managing and supervising the Southern Cal. Transport Yard hostlers and Drivers.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manages Halifax Terminal.

2. Hires, trains and supervises yard hostlers.

3. Supervises production transfers from plant to plant.

4. Assists Fleet Manager by coordinating and prioritizing cost-effective truck / equipment repairs.

5. Maintains and reports fleet costs.

6. Ensures OSHA, safety compliance, record keeping and reporting.

7. Updates status of arrival and departure times for drivers.

8. Assigns trailers for SCT loads.

9. Assists with Reser’s Production Warehouse needs.

10. Maximizes tractor utilization, effectiveness and cost efficiency.

11. Directly supervises 2 Holsters. 

12. Takes OTR trips when needed.

 

Job Specifications

1. 3 years’ experience managing Drivers.

2. Effective problem solver.

3. Transportation, logistic, warehouse or driver management experience required.

4. Food industries experience a plus.

5. Ability to multi-task and handle constant interruptions.

6. Proficient with Excel and Word.

7. Experience with Mercury Gate TMS and AS400 a plus.

8. Must be available to answer calls on evenings and weekends when the need arises.

9. High school diploma required.

10. Class A CDL Required.
