Summary:


  • Reports to the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and works closely and collaboratively with Campus Leadership, Student Services, Career Services, Admissions, Analytics, Information Technology, Clinical Relations and Marketing Department in a multi-faceted, multi-location academic and administrative setting.

  • This position is responsible for alumni engagement, initiatives and analytics, departmental marketing and communications, executive reporting, maintenance of constituent records and tracking CRM systems.

  • Assists with programming and special projects to address relevant issues, enhance affinity & communication between students, alumni, and administration, while providing opportunities for strategic alumni engagement creating a mutual beneficial relationship with university.

  • The Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for the implementation of the alumni strategic outreach plan focused on communication, social media marketing influencing growth and maintenance of the WCU alumni association and ACC alumni network data to foster strong relationships and goodwill with alumni through CRM’s.

  • Constituents include alumni as well as current students, staff/faculty and University partners.

  • This is a Hybrid position where you will work in the office 3 days/week and from your home office 2 days/week.

Responsibilities:


  • Under the direction of the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, oversee and manage initiatives supporting lead generating, marketing, social, and communication fostering the WCU and ACC communities through analytics within in the alumni relations office. Responsible for direct management of Sr. Manager of Marketing and Communication Manager. 

  • Overall administration of Alumni Salesforce while supporting data management system, Raiser’s Edge. Prepares and analyzes, marketing, communications, alumni website, admissions, and lead reports for senior leadership utilizing PowerBI, Salesforce, and Raiser’s Edge CRM databases while supporting fundraising and pathway to faculty reporting. Works with team and external departments on appropriate utilization of alumni data, including segmentation for marketing campaigns. Assist with information management, entering and pulling of all information from CRM, Portal and Raiser’s Edge. Utilizes LiveAlumni, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and internal CRM systems to validate data on students and alumni.

  • Works closely with the Salesforce implementation team and data analytics team to ensure complete alumni data is captured in support of the constituent lifecycle. Ensure enrollment and lead reports are accurate and up to date.

  • Trains team members on data management and ensures accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, events, etc.

  • Establishes and builds relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications. Responsible for maintaining a portfolio of a minimum of 150 alumni, moving them through the student and alumni lifecycle and supporting them in their educational and career goals.

  • Supports the team matrix management goals through a review process and monitors touchpoints within the team. Assists team with mailer requests, geographic lists, volunteer hour reporting, and inputting of career data.

  • Supports management of the annual Alumni Survey dissemination, collection, reporting, and presentations to program deans, directors, and executive directors of each campus. Responsible for implementing the systems for distribution and collaborating with the data teams to accomplish goals.

  • Support Alumni Engagement team in enhancing programs to increase alumni referrals into the University for graduate employment opportunities, preceptorships and pathway to faculty recruitment. Transfer leads and referrals to Admissions for legacy, master’s program, and continuing education opportunities.

  • Supports the Pathway to Faculty initiative for ACC and WCU, supporting programs to encourage alumni to return as faculty members. Collaborate with the marketing and human resources department to market top jobs and benefits to constituents. Create dashboards and reporting on alumni applicants, applications and monitor new hires. Stewarding new hires through alumni communications.

  • Supports spearheading ,marketing and communications plan internally and externally Assist application process through Wizehive proposal management system. Work with central marketing and communications on build out of collateral, website , and targeted communications.

  • Assist in execution of graduate level and professional development events including virtual continuing education opportunities’,, panels and speaker series. Support of team led events including Alumni Awards, reunions, networking events, and grad bash. 

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive expertise about WCU faculty, academic programs and calendar, business goals and University themes and initiatives. Director will strengthen campus partnerships and support campus initiatives that promote student success and the alumni association programs. Have an intimate understanding of the lifecycle and demographics of our constituencies, utilizing this information to create unique and targeted messaging for alumni and supporters.

  • Works with appropriate departments and counterparts in presenting at quarterly Graduate Meetings, PAC meetings, and campus events for student information. Educates graduating students about alumni benefits and engages them in programs.

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, Business Management, Communications, Marketing, Research or related field required.

  • Master’s degree in Education, Administration, Business Management, Student Affairs, or related field required.

Knowledge/Experience:


  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in working directly with admissions, marketing, data basement management and alumni relations at a private college or university.

  • A minimum of 10 years of overall experience in higher education with increasing responsibilities for multi- faceted, multi-location direction and planning.

  • Knowledge of applicable databases and computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections, including CRM systems, Salesforce, and Raiser’s Edge.

  • Understanding of Marketing & Communications Philosophy. Direct experience with all major social networks. Previous experience in Event Planning preferred.

  • Ability to self-direct, self-pace, multitask and function well under pressure of deadlines and conflicting priorities.

  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to exercise good judgment.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

  • Ability to travel/drive locally and regionally on a weekly, daily and/or on an as needed basis.

  • Ability to cover travel expenses for reimbursement per university policy.

  • Ability to cover event costs that may emerge and submit for reimbursement as needed.
