About this Position: Specialty Area Technician


This is a Swing Shift (Nights) position.  Become a member of our winning team! We have an opportunity available as a Specialty Area Technicians in our Service Department at our Anchorage, Alaska Branch. Our technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing and reconditioning of heavy equipment components (including engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials and final drives). We have an opportunity for you to disassemble, inspect, assemble, and test components including hydraulic test of transmissions and dynamometer testing of engines after rebuild. You will need to have experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment. This position requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs. You will need to investigate, analyze and identify problem in order to make recommendations for eliminating the problem.


Salary range from $32.10 per hour.  Hourly offered based on skills and experience.


Qualifications & Experience Needed:



  • A high school degree (or equivalent) or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.

  • A valid driver's license will be required. Forklift driving and operating equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, as examples.

  • You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).


This is a Swings shift and Requires working Nights.



  • This role requires the ability to stand up to ten hours per day (4 x 10s) and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.  

  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will be required.

  • Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
