Job Functions
The IACP seeks to hire a Senior Project Manager to broadly support IACP efforts, and specifically support the following project:
Community Trust Initiative (CTI): The IACP and partners provide training and technical assistance to identified law enforcement agencies and their community partners to build sustainable change that can further establish and maintain trust between police and the communities they serve
Working with IACP staff, project partners, and stakeholders, the Senior Project Manager will:
Supervise several projects and project-related staff members
Oversee the Association’s initiatives and agreement
Develop, manage, and track multiple grant-related budgets; also monitor invoicing in accordance with IACP and federal guidelines
Monitor and ensure compliance with grant activities, federal guidelines, and agency policies
Manage the ongoing development and implementation of project scope, tasks, and deliverables by IACP project staff, while also ensuring concurrence with grant contracting staff
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with state, local, and tribal agencies, federal entities, law enforcement associations, Association Committees, Sections, and Divisions and other key stakeholders
Facilitate meetings, training sessions, group discussions, and other events attended by law enforcement, subject matter experts, and criminal justice partners
Coordinate and conduct educational presentations about programmatic efforts and initiatives, while also representing the Association, at national forums, working groups, and other events
Work in conjunction with the IACP’s committees to coordinate the planning of working groups, midyear, and annual meeting, and to collaborate on the development of grant deliverables
Maintain ongoing and effective communication with project team, staff members, partners, and funding agencies Monitor contract/consultant performance
Assess the effectiveness of project activities and resources
Manage, lead, and grow staff members
Other duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s degree in subject-related field + four (4) years of job-related experience OR Master’s degree in subject-related field + three (3) years of job-related experience required
Relevant Experience/Skills
Relevant experience with a public, private, or non-profit organization preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of staff and/or consultant supervisory experience
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Superior verbal and writing proficiency; capacity to work collaboratively and productively with the project team, law enforcement professionals, data providers, and federal grant agency liaisons
Demonstrated ability to implement programs, provide training and technical assistance, and develop resources that positively affect the field
Ability to multi-task; must be organized and have attention to detail
Experience in accounting for project resources
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Analytical skills to include ability to troubleshoot problems from multiple perspectives
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Strong penchant for collaboration and teamwork
Critical thinking and decision-making skills
Solid task prioritization, organization, and time management skills, and attention to detail
Demonstrated skill in managing staff and projects
Ability to create and manage a budget, accounting for and preserving project resources
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with and understanding of policing, and project relevant issues, such community-based crime reduction or community police engagement, and community police relations
Experience providing training and technical assistance to the criminal justice field
Experience with and knowledge of grant-funded efforts
Experience in a non-profit organization, association, or criminal justice environment
Special Conditions and Work Environment
Travel will be required based on job responsibilities
These are grant funded positions for which continuation funding will be sought
Work takes place primarily in an office environment
Light lifting, bending, and reaching may be required
