Context of job: Childcare Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grants are provided to institutions of higher education (IHEs) by the federal government to support or establish campus-based childcare services that primarily serve the needs of low-income students. The University of Delaware's CCAMPIS grant supports childcare scholarships and family support programs at the UD Early Learning Center (ELC) for the children of eligible parents interested in pursuing a UD education. A leader in early care and education, the ELC provides full-day, research-based care and education for infants and children from birth through second grade. Major responsibilities: * Provide coordination and oversight of the provision of the Family Services to UD student parents at the ELC including recruitment and enrollment.
* Responsible for all aspects of family support for UD student parents in consultation with ELC Directors.
* Act as the Case Manager for families, providing supports, services and referrals as needed. Case management also includes connecting families to community resources and services offices such as family planning, food stamps, employment, health services, vocational rehabilitation, and psychological services.
* Responsible for providing monthly visits and the development of family partnership plans based on each family's strengths and each child's needs.
* Assist families in developing activities and fostering behaviors that will enhance their children's development. Support families in meeting state EPSDT guidelines related to developmental, social emotional and health screenings.
* Ensure a smooth transition for the children and families into and out of the ELC as needed due to child age, family location, or change in family choice of childcare setting.
* Maintain confidential records on child and family progress, including using computer software. Prepare reports and maintain accurate and timely records as necessary to meet all requirements of funding source.
* Coordinate, facilitate and plan student-parent advisory committee, student-parent meetings, workshops, events, or other program activities and in conjunction with parents. Encourage parents to attend parent meetings, workshops, etc. and assist in coordinating transportation as necessary.
* Interface and coordinate with teachers and other partner program staff to ensure continuity for families and the implementation of family services.
* Act as a liaison and advocate between community resources and UD student-parent families. Assist parents in using appropriate community resources. Encourage parent involvement in the childcare program.
* Assist with long range program planning and development of the ELC and CCAMPIS program including but not limited to a university-wide family support plan and a recruitment plan.
* Attend staff meetings, consortium meetings, advisory meetings, workshops, conferences and other meetings as requested by the Director.
* Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social work, Early Childhood Education or other related discipline and one year job related experience required with young children, families or community programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of experience preferred.
* Requires knowledge of child development, adult learning styles and federal, state, and community resources including Delaware Purchase of Care and the Federal Pell Grant program.
* strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with a diverse population.
* Experience promoting and enhancing healthy parent-child relationships.
* Experience working with families to identify risks and stressors that impact family well-being and work together with families to set family-centered goals.
* Demonstrated ability to be sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the family members and to remain open to learning more about the cultures of the families served.
* Must have ability to work as part of a program team, mentor families, connect families to high-quality childcare and community resources as well as assess children's development, plan and implement "lesson plans" and assess family's strengths and needs.
* Proficiency in word processing, assessment software and data systems.
* Demonstrates an understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Special Requirements:

* Must have a valid driver's license and a private reliable means of transportation.
* Position requires travel within New Castle County and some evening and weekend hours.
* Requires successful completion of criminal state and federal fingerprint background check, child protection, sex offender and adult abuse registry checks, health examination and TB test.
* Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certification as well as updated Health Appraisal and PPD.
