  • H.S. degree or GED required. Some college is preferred.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to communicate with shop floor and management personnel

  • Ability to organize, manage time and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Able to work in a self-directed or team environment.

  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Forward thinker - must have the ability to innovate when the opportunity is presented.

  • Experience with MS Office, working knowledge of Excel

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Minitab and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing or a technical role.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Howmet Engine Systems is currently seeking an experienced Operations professional to join our team in Hampton, Virginia. Job Summary: This position will work under the PO team to assist with standardizing and improving post cast operations that will lead to high product yields of investment castings.
Essential Functions :


  • Work with Post Cast Process Owner to ensure that post cast manufacturing processes (shell removal, rough cut, gate removal, machining, surface preparation, finishing, and dimensional) are performed in compliance with the methods, materials, and equipment specifications.

  • Perform audits on post cast processes to check for compliance and to identify opportunities to reduce scrap & rework.

  • Work with team to determine any deviations from a critical process, and develop timely reaction plans to correct the deviations

  • Perform trials and evaluations under the direction of the PO team.

  • Assist with development and implementation of new materials and techniques.

  • Assist with developing new and/or revised work instructions (Activity Instructions, Product Criteria).

  • Perform data retrieval and data analysis in Excel and IPC.

  • Flexibility to work off-shift hours and weekends for occasional training or technical support

  • Other duties may be requested to support Process Owner team
