Job Description:

Driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Handling and loading/unloading glass and/or metal products and load securement. Unloading could include handling loose, crated, and racked glass, metal and associated products
• Daily pre and post trip inspection of vehicles, multiple deliveries, and customer service
• Move metal product from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates
• Read and attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Quality inspection, operating equipment, and/or manually maneuvering equipment
• Understand layout of the facility to ensure proper product flow
• Lear all areas of production. All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
• Utilize a tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications
• Maintain a safe and clean work area
• Read written instructions and take verbal instructions
• Perform different job functions on a rotating basis
• Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job
• Handle and load/unload glass and/or metal products, secure the load, make multiple deliveries, and provide excellent customer service
• Ensure trucks are operating efficiently by performing thorough daily pre and post trip inspections
• Maintain truck and driving records by reporting information, completing driver logs and truck performance forms
• Comply with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations
• Occasionally load or unload trucks

Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A or B license obtained from a licensed truck driver training program, with an acceptable motor vehicle record 


• At least 21 years old


• At least two (2) years of verifiable, incident free driving experience operating a class A or B truck


• Clean driving record over the last three years with no tickets or accidents (no major traffic violations on driving record)


• Ability to obtain a medical examiner’s certificate of physical qualification


• Meet all DOT requirements


• Dependability, good English verbal and written communications skills, and good customer relations and people skills
