Job Description Summary

• This position is responsible for the fueling, greasing and routine preventative maintenance on various pieces of mobile heavy equipment and vehicles in the field at various locations i.e. grading & paving job sites, asphalt plants, quarries and satellite shops.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for own personal safety at all times


• Perform Daily Risk Assessments


• Report Near Misses on a daily basis


• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to


• Perform Pre/Post Trip inspection on all company vehicles/equipment that you use and/or operate daily


• Adhere to company, state, federal rules and regulations as it pertains to your specific job


• Assist in managing and controlling cost as it pertains to mobile equipment and vehicles in the department


• Perform assigned duties safely and efficiently


• Communicate any accidents and/or issues immediately to your supervisor


• Perform routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment and vehicles


• Fuel Equipment


• Grease Equipment


• Operate Heavey Equipment


• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Computer skills and proficient in Outlook


• Ability to do basic math


• Knowledge of DOT and CDL regulations


• CDL License with Tanker Endorsement and Hazmat is required


• Must be able to operate heavy equipment


• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment


• Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously


• Must possess excellent communication and leadership skills


• Able to work independently with attention to detail


• Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment


• Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner


• Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines


• Excellent organizational skills


• Able to use computer, document and communicate findings and effectively respond to questions from customers and the general public


• Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.


• Mechanical knowledge of Heavy Equipment and Vehicles required


• Heavy Equipment Experience 3-5 years


• Must possess Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and necessary endorsements. When hauling certain vehicles, may be required to have hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
