Job Description:

The Accounting Manager is an essential member of the PDS Finance team responsible for general accounting functions as well as managing Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialists. This position reports directly to the PDS Business Unit Controller.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Drive monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are complete within corporate timelines
  • Supervises accounts payable, payroll and billing functions, credit and collections for all locations comprising AMETEK PDS
  • Responsible for the coordination, preparation, and issuance of all tax packages and records such as sales tax returns, payroll tax filings, and other related governmental reports
  • Responsible for the overall design and maintenance of the division's general ledger and accompanying system-produced financial schedules and reports
  • Coordinates business unit reporting to ensure compliance with Corporate, Group, and Division requirements
  • Ensures that all inter-company accounts are in balance and reconciled monthly
  • Trains and instructs employees on job responsibilities, company rules, and policies
  • Assists BU Controller as required in the design and implementation of various reports to improve the efficiency of reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Supports requests for internal and external audits
  • Responsible for International Sales reporting to Corporate including actuals and forecasts for sales, orders, and gross margin
  • Monthly close and reconciliation of AR & AP
  • Maintains and monitors trial balance and makes correcting entries
Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting and/or Finance
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • Three to five years related experience
  • Manufacturing Accounting experience in a mid-sized to large company required, along with strong Business Partnership skills
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of GAAP and Accounting Standards
  • Experience supporting audits including internal, external, SOX and tax
  • Strong proficiency with office productivity applications (Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Adobe) Experience with advanced ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • A key requirement is the ability to be hands on with the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills well developed problem-solving skills
  • Well organized and self-directed with the ability to relate to all level of an organization. Attention to detail, very strong work ethic and high energy. Must be a team player and have ability to work in a matrix organizational environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines, strong planning skills.
  • The right person will be ambitious and flexible and want to learn and grow professionally
  • Travel: < 10%
