Our internship offers students the opportunity to learn from hands-on experience with real world applications. You'll be participating in important processes while developing your understanding of your profession.
We have various internships throughout our Engineering Department to include:
Design Engineering:
Develop assembly or component designs for use in ILC products
Develop these designs with consideration of quality, cost, function, system integration and producibility
Develop concepts, prototype components or assemblies, test the products, document the designs, and support production during manufacture
Quality Engineering:
Evaluate and analyze products, components, materials, and equipment for the purpose of understanding and predicting failures
Review product designs, material specifications, and manufacturing capability to predict reliability and dependability
Create prototypes and conduct product tests to gather reliability data
Materials Engineering:
Research, design, and develop materials for use in consumer and commercial goods, equipment, packaging, and other applications
Conduct research to determine the best materials to use, taking into account environments, climate, product use, loads, and other physical stresses placed on materials
Perform experiments on materials and research or create new materials
Create technical drawings and specifications for use in production
Manufacturing Engineering:
Research, design, and develop the organization's manufacturing and fabrication methods, tools, and systems
Evaluate product design for manufacturability and suggest design process adjustments and quality improvements
Engage in the selection, development, and testing of tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing
Investigate manufacturing processes for cost reduction opportunities
Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout in order to maximize efficiency
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, process, and/or production teams to meet quality, productivity, and cost objectives
Qualifications and requirements:
Must be able to work on shared database with Government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
Preferred rising Junior or Senior and have a 3.0 GPA in your core field of study
Able to work 40+ hours each week during your internship
