Hoffmaster is looking an intern to support our Plant Engineering team for Summer 2024. This is an onsite paid internship based at our manufacturing facility in Clintonville focused the following projects within the organization:
Assist with analyses and preparation of plans, designs, drawings, specifications, documentation, cost estimates, and work procedures for varies projects.
Utilize various computer programs, databases, spreadsheets, etc. to update details of projects, analyze processes and develop procedures.
Using 2D and 3D CAD, create and modify drawings for production and plant layout assignments.
Converting Inventor files to Solidworks:
Analyze and understand the structure and components of Inventor files.
Utilize Solidworks software to import Inventor files while ensuring compatibility and accuracy in the conversion process.
Address any discrepancies or errors that may arise during the conversion process and troubleshoot accordingly.
Maintain consistency and precision in the conversion to ensure that the Solidworks files accurately represent the original Inventor designs.
Optimize the Solidworks files for efficient use in further design processes or manufacturing.
Creating CAD drawings documenting standard features for plate formers and maintenance documentation:
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to identify standard features for plate formers and maintenance procedures.
Utilize CAD software (such as Solidworks or AutoCAD) to create detailed drawings and documentation.
Incorporate standard design elements, dimensions, and specifications into the CAD drawings to ensure uniformity and consistency across different products and projects.
Clearly annotate and label the CAD drawings to provide comprehensive documentation of standard features and maintenance procedures.
Ensure that the CAD drawings adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, especially regarding safety and compliance.
Revise and update CAD drawings as necessary to reflect any changes in design specifications or maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
Excellent abilities to prioritize and handle multiple projects
Ability to recognize improvement opportunities
High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication/ influence skills, excellent presentation skills
Ability to perform with minimal supervision and direction
Ability to deliver effective presentations
Organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well on a team
Proven skill in projecting confidence, working collaboratively and engendering trust
Working towards Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related degree. Jr. or Sr. preferred
Occasional travel to other Wisconsin sites may be required

Full time employment- Internships and projects are designed to last 10 weeks over the summer. Hours will be Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm and pay starts at $18 / hour.
