Quality Engineering Intern at Clarios, LLC in Middletown, Delaware

Job Description:

What You Will Do

• Understand the process, critical parameters (in the Control Plan), meet customer quality standards, and apply that knowledge gained in a daily manufacturing environment.


• The Quality Department is responsible for product quality, QMS, waste or scrap reduction, customer concerns resolution (voice of customer), manufacturing process optimization, and operations support.


• Assist in improving the process and product to ensure production deliverables and conformance to customer requirements.

How You Will Do It (projects can include)

• Documenting and optimizing acid filling process in SLI (Conbro) and AGM


• Reducing variability in Formation and Shipping washer set-ups, which will reduce pH probe failures and reduce overflow conditions.


• Investigating, documenting, analyzing, and determining root cause of product quality issues. Collaborating with Maintenance and Engineering to implement approved solutions.


• Regular interaction with operation, understanding common issues impacting quality and productivity. Determining and implementing short and medium terms solution as applicable. These may require creating job aids using 3D printing technology.


• Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing process and quality data to gain insights on effectiveness or ineffectiveness of current methods, and capabilities.

What We Look For

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university


• Pursuing an undergraduate in Mechanical, Industrial, or electrical Engineering.


• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.


• 
  Duration: Summer 2024. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.


• 
  Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in Middletown, DE.

Middletown, Delaware is home to a distribution center that charges, packages and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 2011 and now employ more than 350 people and operate six days per week. Our employees are actively involved in the community and support a variety of local organizations, including the Middletown/Odessa/Townsend Senior Center and local fire departments.
