Research Chemist at PPG INDUSTRIES INC in Burbank, California

Job Description:

As a Research Chemist will be responsible for formulating, preparing and testing new and existing products, evaluating new raw materials, maintaining existing products and working with manufacturing to resolve problems. This position is onsite and based out of our Burbank, CA. facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies to help eliminate health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents.


• Drive projects against set milestones to deliver results.


• Coordinate related activities including formulation, processing, testing and application


• Perform and document generally standardized, routine chemical and physical test of finished goods and compare the results with established standards and customer requirements


• Work closely with product management, manufacturing, and procurement organizations, to develop new products and maintain existing product lines through formulation and product optimization


• Support manufacturing to ensure quality products are delivered to customers qualifications

  Salary Range $60,000-$75,000
  

  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a relevant technical field.


• US Citizens or Permanent Resident


• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a lab setting.


• Previous experience in adhesives, sealants, or coatings is strongly preferred.
