Residential Community Microgrid Business Development & Strategy Manager at Schneider Electric USA, Inc in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Residential Community Microgrid Business Development and Strategy Manager as part of the Home & Distribution Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a sustainable business model and strategy for driving consideration and adoption of residential community microgrid projects primarily in the single-family new construction space, but also in targeted multi family, student housing, and other such living space dwellings.

This role will leverage the position Schneider enjoys within the homebuilder segment and leverage the evolution of the home from basic electrical distribution equipment to smart panel ready to smart home now to full Schneider Home to finally connected community microgrid as the steps builder partners can take in their journey to fully executed microgrid communities.

Responsibilities:


  • Identify and evaluate potential residential community microgrid opportunities, assessing their feasibility and potential for business growth.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company's presence in the residential community microgrid market.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including residential developers, utilities, government agencies, and other relevant industry players.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and business models for residential community microgrid projects, namely the Schneider microgrid team, critical power and government affairs.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.

  • Lead the negotiation and finalization of contracts and agreements with customers and partners in conjunction with the Home & Distribution Homebuilder and Business Development teams.

  • Monitor and track industry developments, policies, and regulations related to residential community microgrids, and adapt strategies accordingly.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective marketing and communication strategies to promote residential community microgrid solutions.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of business development professionals working on residential community microgrid projects.

  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.


  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Proven experience in business development, strategy, or project management within the renewable energy or energy industry.

  • Strong understanding of microgrid technologies, renewable energy systems, and residential community development.

  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and market expansion.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and incentives related to residential community microgrids is desirable.

  • Ability to execute business model and strategy through the Schneider sales and channel organizations as well as through appropriate channel partners and electrical and/or solar contractor customers.
