Job Description:

Yale University School of Medicine

Department of Neurology

The Department of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine seeks to hire a general neurologist or subspecialty trained neurologist with interest in general neurology at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

The Division of General Neurology evaluates and treats all neurological conditions. The division includes the Yale Headache Center, which specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of headaches, and the Yale Neurology Resident Clinics. The Resident Clinics offer specialized care in general neurology and stroke and include the Neurology Urgent Access Clinic (NUAC). The goal of NUAC is to allow expedited evaluation of patients seen in the emergency room as well as those referred from physicians requiring an urgent assessment. A major role of the division is to ensure patients are seen by appropriate sub-specialists within the department. If the diagnosis is unclear or the patient would benefit from subspecialty care, then the General Neurology Division will initially evaluate patients and make internal referrals to the appropriate sub-specialists to allow for the best possible care.

We seek motivated academic physicians with clinical expertise in: 1) the care of adult general neurology and subspecialty patients, 2) participation in clinical trials and 3) teaching medical trainees. Practice location will be in Fairfield County. We anticipate faculty applicants to be dedicated to the education of the next generation of subspecialty experts. We provide a highly collaborative, supportive, and mentored environment that promotes specialists to pursue career growth within their specific area of interest. This position offers applicants an exciting opportunity for individual programmatic development and goal discovery across varied academic interests within our division and department.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified/board eligible in Neurology and have completed a General Neurology fellowship. Applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut. Faculty rank will be based on experience. Candidates with subspecialty training are welcome to apply and may be able to develop a focus in their subspecialty.
