Focused Improvement Engineer - Lewisburg, OH
This is a critical role for NA Royal Canin to deliver commitments of sustainable growth. The incumbent in this role will need to collaborate across multiple departments and functions (i.e. R&D, Q&FS, S&F, Manufacturing, and Engineering) in order to diagnose, analyze and drive reduction in overall MCC, TRS and NQC.

The successful incumbent will need to demonstrate key strengths in influencing without authority at all levels of the organization and negotiation skills to deliver sustainable change. The successful candidate will have strong problem solving and coaching skills, as well as a strong drive for results.

What we are looking for:

Education & Professional Qualifications:


  • 5 years of experience in Supply (manufacturing)

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level, preferably in Engineering, Supply or Technical field of study.

  • Ability make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills

  • TPM/WCM/Lean six sigma experience required. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or actively working towards completion.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Power BI

  • Prefer Project Management Experience

Knowledge/Experience:


  • Functional knowledge of factory operations with deep functional knowledge in Problem Solving Methodologies, Data Collection, and value stream mapping

  • Trained in and can demonstrate a variety of problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of SPC (statistical process control), RCLMS and Production reporting and how it can impact NQC & PCC

  • Understanding of site waste reports including Q&FS costs, variance and floor scrap.

  • Knowledge of (and a passion for) best in class Mars business processes and systems solutions

  • Excellent, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively, while balancing a variety of priorities and workload.

  • Ability to handle complex challenges across all functions

  • Ability to motivate and influence a broad, cross functional team

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Develop technical capability on their lines (machine and material interface)

  • Health of SRC system: Leads identification of centerline targets, documentation of standards, and coaches the Line Team and technicians through the execution, problem solving and change management.

  • Supports development and leads execution of portions of the site 90-Day and 1-year improvement plans to deliver the glidepath through loss elimination.

  • Lead Basic and Complex problem solving when issues occur, escalate complicated problems through the right forums and to the relevant teams

  • Develop and implement programs to address problems related to production, materials, safety, or quality.

  • Modify equipment or processes to improve resource or cost efficiency.

  • Is an active member of the Focused Improvement organization, working in partnership with (People) and (Asset) to deliver results for the site using MSE/TPM processes.

  • Responsible for building the skills of the operational teams. Driving the elimination of waste through the application of rigorous, data-driven, problem-solving processes.

  • Address the root causes of failures and downtime. Linking the outage, root cause, DMS failure, and action in the plan for the day with the ultimate goal of eliminating losses permanently.
