As a Strategy Team Leader you’ll act as an internal consultant, providing expert project management and team facilitation services to Publix business areas. In this role, you will work directly with business area leadership to develop business plans and implement business strategies across the entire company. The business plans and strategies help align business areas to achieve their growth objectives. This position reports to the Manager of Strategy.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Facilitate cross-functional teams comprised of high-level associates to execute strategic initiatives commissioned by officers of the company
Build relationships with the business area(s) you support and foster a strong team environment
Facilitate quarterly Strategy Review Meetings and the annual business planning process for one or more business areas
Facilitate cross-functional teams through complex business exercises such as analyzing business area strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats or making critical decisions using established problem-solving methodologies
Draft or help author project scopes, business-case funding requests, team charters, presentations or officer communications
Develop and maintain a basic knowledge of the supermarket industry, while getting to know your assigned business area including emerging trends, opportunities, threats, and competitor strategies
Develop detailed project plans and status reporting, communicate project status to key stakeholders
Ensure project deliverables are produced within established time frames, and proactively work to mitigate risk and overcome project issues
Leverage the specialized skills of team members
Efficiently organize information to reduce the time and effort required for the team to make decisions
Work proactively to identify and mitigate project risks
Lead change management efforts to positively and proactively address emotions and behaviors resulting from changes that are introduced by projects
Plan and oversee the work of consultants and other suppliers/vendors
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Engineering, Accounting, or related analytical discipline, or equivalent work experience
5 years of work experience in a corporate environment with at least 3 years of that experience in a strategic project management role

excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all levels of the organization
ability to quickly assimilate project background information
ability to facilitate team development of innovative solutions consistent with Publix's overall strategic direction
understanding of continuous quality improvement methodologies
willingness and ability to work a variable work schedule, including extended hours and weekends
willing to travel occasionally with overnight stays
willingness to commit to Publix and our Mission
three years’ experience in facilitating cross-functional teams through complex issues, and
knowledge of balanced scorecard methodology and business planning processes
