Project Manager - Defense & Aerospace

Location: onsite in St. Petersburg, FL

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our dedicated team. As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing projects within the defense and aerospace domains. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and contribute to the success of high-impact initiatives.

What can you expect to do?



  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of defense and aerospace projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.


  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers to drive project success and satisfaction.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with members of the workcell, including engineering, planners, buyers, and the business unit, to facilitate seamless project execution and alignment across departments.


  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure smooth project delivery.


  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and deliverables.


  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address project issues and conflicts, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.


  • Change Management: Manage project scope changes and deviations, assess their impact on project objectives, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.


  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency.


  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management process, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.


  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?


  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in project management, preferably within the defense or aerospace industries.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion, meeting or exceeding project goals and objectives.

  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
