What you will do

You will oversee and be accountable for the technical environmental aspects at each plant within your region. In this role you will partner with Regional Operations and EHS leadership to ensure seamless implementation of Global and Regional EHS standards, practices, systems, and tools across your plant(s).

You will provide technical support on environmental matters within your region and drive initiatives as an individual contributor or leader of project teams to address specific changes or issues that apply across the business and/or region.

How you will do it


  • Partner with Regional leadership to develop site specific execution plans that deliver on our Operational and EHS strategies for your operating region.

  • Communicate environmental opportunities and risks to Plant and Regional leadership.

  • Maintains general awareness of applicable international, state, local and corporate environmental requirements.

  • Lead the implementation of the region's environmental strategies and efforts to maintain current and anticipated regulatory compliance.

  • Implement a communication strategy across your plant(s) that reinforces a high level of technical environmental awareness and ownership at all levels of the plant(s). 

  • Validate program and process implementation with hourly staff, team leaders, supervisors, plant management, and regional operations leaders.  

  • Review contract documentation for jobs meeting large project criteria for relevant issues that may affect the execution of an environmental project or change at the project/site or regional level. 

  • Oversee environmental technical, management, and process training for all levels of employees based on specific needs and requirements.  Training may include the business’ strategies and goals, technical and program information, environment equipment maintenance, and regulatory information.

  • Track and communicate environmental equipment performance metrics including goals and the core processes (i.e. monitoring, scheduling, maintenance, etc.).

  • Guide Plant Operational and EHS staff in analyzing incidents and emissions and their related trends within your region.

  • Represent the EHS function in obtaining approval for needed capital and expenses to address environmental improvement, maintenance and compliance matters.

  • Ensure prompt escalation of environmental issues to Business, Operational, and EHS Leadership.

What we look for


  • Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Industrial Safety or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, or both in a multi-facility environment. 

  • Candidate must have experience with and knowledge of emissions-related equipment and permits that are associated with it.

  • Knowledge of permit application, modification, and maintenance is preferred.

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. 

  • Position will be remote when not travelling to a plant.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
