Job Description:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the management and oversight of all inventory in the plant. Works closely with the Logistics Manager, Transportation Specialist and Manager of Operations and is cross trained in many of the corresponding job competencies. Also responsible for identifying and executing related cost savings initiatives to help ensure the companys financial stability through the improvement of Yields, Efficiencies, and Labor.
Responsibilities include:
Track inventory flow through the organization, including receiving, put away, storage and picks.
Perform incremental and physical inventory counts.
Identify obsolete/damaged/slow moving inventory.
Implement counting methodologies in production to improve inventory tracking and valuation.
Record daily consumption of production materials in the ERP system.
Maintain raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories, both on and off-site.
Report any shortages on planning and scheduling orders as they are identified.
Ensure that all lot numbers are correctly recorded on Shipping & Receiving paperwork and in the ERP system.
Ensure that the FIFO ingredient rotation procedure is being adhered to by the loaders.
Assist the Compliance department in the preparation and completion of third-party audits and inspections.
Cover for similar positions in department when needed due to labor issues
