Kendal at Oberlin's Health and Wellness Clinic is currently seeking a compassionate, detail oriented Certified Medical Assistant for a full time, 8am-4:30pm position. The Medical Assistant will maintain and enhance Kendal at Oberlin’s Health and Wellness Clinic for independent living residents and maintain continuity of resident care by assisting in the completion of clinic operations by practicing good medical assistant skills. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Providing proper intake of residents’ health information in the EMR

  • Conducting telephone checks on residents as needed

  • Updating residents’ medication regimen in the EMR

  • Assisting physicians and nurse practitioner with office visits and procedures

  • Administering injections to residents as prescribed

  • Informing the Health & Wellness Director of any anticipated or present problems

  • Scheduling NP and physician appointments as necessary

  • Processing NP and physician orders and updating EMR timely

  • Performing EKGs, ear irrigations, bladder scans, fingerstick INR and blood sugar checks, and other procedures as directed by the NP or physician and within the scope of practice

  • Assisting with the implementation of annual vaccinations, immunizations, and Mantoux testing of residents and employees


Qualifications and Experience:



  • Current certification of medical assisting by the state of Ohio and 2 years’ related experience in a medical office setting.

  • Proven ability to coordinate medical office activities with excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle most tasks independently including maintaining patient medical records and preparing and supplying examination rooms.

  • Must be flexible and work particularly well with public, residents, and staff.
