The Product Management team in F5 Technology Services is responsible for creating and driving the strategy for how we serve vital functions within F5, such as sales, marketing, finance, legal and HR. The mission of Technology Services is to create a more responsive, nimble and agile F5, supporting internal and external customer needs.

As Product Manager, you will bring thought leadership to your area and stakeholder management skills. You will work collaboratively, driving strategic alignment across the organization, and have the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external audiences. You will develop roadmaps and requirements using a balance of future vision, near-term opportunities, user requirements, business insight, and management of day-to-day product issues. The position is dynamic, and you should be comfortable with ambiguity, a fast-pace and frequent context switching. Areas of assignment are flexible to accommodate evolving business needs.

What You’ll Do


  • Execute upon a coherent, results-focused vision and roadmap with your team based on user discovery, data and financial analysis, stakeholder discussions, F5 business dynamics and industry trends


  • Evangelize and gain alignment on your vision and road map with senior stakeholders across the company – up to and including the VP and Director level – and manage their expectations with clear, consistent communication


  • Rally delivery teams around clear, stable priorities focused on product goals and user needs, driving timely tradeoff decisions when needed


  • Build business cases for requested initiatives, articulating quantifiable business outcomes and return on investment and success metrics


  • Focus your team’s efforts on driving concrete business benefit – ensuring user experience is solid, driving successful adoption of solutions with end users, and tracking usage and performance to gauge business impact


  • Work constructively as a member of the broader product management team to rationalize priorities across workstreams


  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring


  • Extensive experience as a product manager in an Agile development environment


  • Proven ability to execute upon a coherent product strategy for a complex or highly technical functional area


  • Track record of crafting and driving product results, ideally for products with high visibility and/or significant financial impact


  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, prioritize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development


  • Strong data orientation with proven track record of digging deep into data and using it to drive decisions


  • Strong financial acumen, including ability to structure basic business cases


  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to articulate complex technology and business opportunities clearly


  • Proven ability to construct professional and productive relationships, especially with more senior colleagues, even when there’s a need to deliver tough messages


  • Strong leadership, negotiation & persuasion skills


  • Ability to learn our products quickly


Qualifications


  • 4+ years of experience in Agile software product management, preferably on solutions supporting sales, finance, or other internal support functions


  • 5+ years of experience working with a diverse set of partners such as sales, engineering, legal, customer success, data science, marketing etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or related field, MBA a plus

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $64,257.00 - $96,385.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
