Job Description:

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting in analyzing customer returns and manufacturing failures. The FA Technician will work in the quality lab environment on product to determine root cause using electrical and mechanical equipment. Position Requirements: Pinpoint the true root cause of a failure mode through accurate troubleshooting down to component level (capacitor, resistors, IC, etc.) Identify potential trends and bring them to the attention of upper level management in a timely manner. Enter failure mode information into database in a clear and detailed manner. Prepare and document test procedures and methods. Perform tests and document results, communicating with Product Engineering when required. Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices. When mandated, will need to be available to work overtime, be it daily extra hours or weekly with additional days added to the work week. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, Inc. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a technical field is preferred. Experience with board level component troubleshooting equipment. Full understanding of Failure Analysis processes. Ability to read and interpret schematics/block diagram. Ability to use common test lab equipment. Proficient soldering skills, including remove/replace SMT, Through hole. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Five (5) years of experience to be considered. Key Attributes: Performs under general supervision Handles moderately complex issues. Solid working level of knowledge. May mentor or coach.
