Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Florida Intermodal Planning Team. Our client base is primarily focused on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the intermodal and supply chain industry, public transportation providers, local governments, and MPO/TPOs. This position is seeking an experience Project Manager with ambition, enthusiasm for growth, ability to take ownership of efforts, and independence. Our Intermodal Team works cohesively on a daily basis throughout the region on a wide variety of projects and efforts, requiring individuals to be dynamic, efficient, and strong multi-taskers.



General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Coordinate and lead work efforts with team members and clients

  • Mentor and develop staff

  • Lead business development activities, including proposal preparation, marketing, and presentations/interviews.

  • Manage project budgets, staff, schedules, and other project related activities

  • Participates on interdisciplinary teams including all modes of transportation

  • Participate in the development of scopes of services, budgets, and schedules

  • Prepare reports, studies, proposals, graphics, and presentation materials

  • Have a strong understanding of the multimodal and intermodal industry

  • Lead meetings, stakeholder and partner meetings and discussions, and industry focused events

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality and engaging presentations

  • Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

  • Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field

  • AICP certification is desired, but not required.

  • Project management experience is required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong writing and presentation skills

  • Energetic and positive attitude with a teamwork focused mentality

  • Excellent presentation and meeting leadership skills

 

 Work Environment


  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Travel will be required. Travel is typically within the state of Florida, though there will be occasions where out of state travel will be required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, however, when traveling to the client site, noise level can be loud.

Position may require some travel to offices within their respective area using various modes of transportation including automobile and airline.
