What's the role?

The Application Engineer role focuses on resolving MultiSEM application issues efficiently, collaborating with HQ for solutions. Developing and customizing MultiSEM applications based on customer needs is key. Leading application support, collaborating with teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction are essential.

Here's what you'll do:



  • Issue Resolution: Drive customer success by promptly reporting and resolving application issues related to MultiSEM. Collaborate effectively with HQ partners to ensure timely solutions.


  • Knowledge Enhancement: Continuously improve knowledge of application-related issues for MultiSEM tools, staying updated on the latest developments and industry best practices.


  • Application Development: Work closely with customers onsite and the HQ team to develop improvements and new applications, addressing specific customer needs and requirements.


  • Application Support Leadership: Leads in application support for MultiSEM tools, acting as a communication channel between customers, OEM partner and HQ. Be the first-level contact for application issues at Intel-RA and report them promptly using the appropriate procedures.


  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Customer, OEM partner, Application, and Service teams, both locally and at HQ, to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.


  • Customer Meetings: Participate in regular meetings with customers to summarize and report issues, providing technical feedback and ensuring customer satisfaction.


  • Issue Tracking: Track action items and open issues with customers, working diligently to bring them to fast closure and maintaining clear documentation.


  • Pre-sales and Post-sales Support: Support pre-sales and post-sales activities for OEM partner and HQ teams. Conduct technical presentations and identify potential business opportunities.


  • Software Testing and Upgrading: Perform regular software testing and upgrading tasks, including bug reporting, to ensure the continuous improvement of MultiSEM tools.


  • Travel Requirements: Be willing and able to travel, including internationally, for training and customer support.


  • Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Do you qualify?


  • A technical degree (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering or Science) or >10 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Applications or Process Engineering within the semiconductor industry.

  • Proficient in experimental skills, adept at handling complex setups, with patience and a strong hands-on mentality.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and other technical documentation.

  • Experience with FAB cleanroom protocol.

Nice to Haves:


  • Knowledge and experience in electron microscopy and semiconductor manufacturing technology/process control.

  • Familiarity with coding, image processing, and analyzing large datasets.

Working Conditions and Special Demands:


  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, with an initial training period of approximately 3 months at the factory location in Germany.

  • Anticipated travel requirement of 10-15% after initial training.

  • Ability to work extended hours inside a semiconductor cleanroom (FAB).

  • Adherence to all customer cleanroom protocols.

  • Working with potentially hazardous chemicals and laser systems.

  • Occasional overtime, including weekends, as required.
