Job Summary:
The College and Career Youth Apprentice participates in a 180-hour apprenticeship focusing on one of three post-secondary tracks. The apprentice should be a junior or senior in high school, actively involved in the College and Career Readiness Center, and working towards post-secondary educational or technical goals. The apprenticeship placement will mirror their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) established in the College and Career Readiness Center, accommodating their current educational schedule and including relevant workshops.
Essential Functions:
Be an active member of the College and Career Readiness Center.
Work with advisors to set goals in an Individual Learning Plan.
Attend workshops relevant to the chosen post-secondary track.
Maintain a working relationship with the on-site apprenticeship supervisor.
Meet all expectations of the on-site apprenticeship placement.
Ensure compliance with tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as tribal policies and TERO ordinance.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be a junior or senior in high school.
License/Certification/Requirements: Pediatric/Adult CPR/First Aid Certification, or obtain within 90 days.
Preferred: Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities.
Special Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training during the program.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Working Conditions:
Lifting Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit (stationary position), walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see.
Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions: None specified.
OSHA Categories: Category II - No routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.

Utilizes standard office equipment.
