Position Summary:

Provides skilled craftsmanship as a journeyman painter in applying various types of finishes to include the construction, maintenance, and repair of building structures, components and systems.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Prepares surface and surroundings such as sheetrock walls, furniture, office equipment etc. for painting.
2. Utilizes proper tools and materials following the standards of the craft.
3. Completes assignments in an orderly, safe and timely manner following all policies and procedures.
4. Cleans brushes, spray guns and other equipment.
5. Study and keep current on security issues.
6. Provides estimates of time & material required for assigned tasks.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

None

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent and/or completion of trade school.

Minimum Experience:

Three (3) years of experience as a painter; five (5) years of experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
