Pediatric Rheumatology Faculty Opportunities at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Description:

The Division of Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking faculty members to expand and enhance its clinical and research program in pediatric rheumatic diseases.

The Clinical Educator position(s) responsibilities are primarily clinical duties with the expectation to assume a divisional leadership position in system/quality improvement in the upcoming years. The clinical effort will be largely outpatient based. However, there will be a proportion of time for inpatient service, consults, and night-time / weekend call. CCHMC clinical effort will be approximately five OP clinics/week, approximately four weeks/year of inpatient service coverage, and approximately coverage of eight fellows clinics/year.

We are also recruiting a Clinician Scientist with a strong commitment to becoming an independent investigator and leader in the field of pediatric rheumatology. Potential areas of research include, but are not necessarily limited to, clinical trials, precision-dosing of medications, environmental health, and the use of large datasets. Research effort will be approximately 15% and be primarily focused on QI activities that improve "outcomes that matter" for JIA and lupus and initiate similar efforts for juvenile myositis and integrate these efforts with national research networks. The remaining time is expected to be used for academic endeavors and there will be initially two hours / week to assist in the education of our clinical fellows. Mentorship by more senior faculty members will be provided.

Successful candidates for either of these faculty positions must have an DO; MBBS; MD; or MD, PhD degree and, ideally, will have completed at least three years of pediatric rheumatology fellowship training. Successful applicants will have co-appointments at the Department of Pediatrics of University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine.
