Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, one of NYC's most prominent real estate giants, seeks a Legal Administrative Assistant with real estate industry experience.

Responsibilities:


  • Draft pleadings as well as owner/landlord notices such as rent demands, holdovers, notice to cure, notice to quit, etc.

  • Update/revise existing documents/forms used by the residential/leasing/collections departments

  • Communicate with tenants and attorneys

  • Maintain court calendar appearances

  • Attend Landlord-Tenant Court in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, etc.

  • Conduct legal research on pending cases, statues/laws regarding Landlord/Tenant, Housing Discrimination, 421-A, Rent Stabilization, Affordable Housing, Market Housing, Human Rights, etc.

  • Interact with Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Paralegal







REQUIREMENTS:



  • 3+ years of litigation and/or landlord tenant experience

  • Proficiency in NYC Landlord-Tenant law

  • Knowledge of New York City sponsored affordable housing (rent subsidies offered by HPD, HDC)

  • Digital document management experience

  • Familiar with Box (or cloud sharing platforms)

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat

  • Outlook, Slack experience

  • NYSCEF experience (ability to e-filing documents)

  • PACER, Westlaw, Legal Tracker experience






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
