The CMA will work under the direction of the Mohs Surgeon owner and collaborate with other staff to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Serves as direct care for patients in a busy Mohs Surgery, Skin Cancer, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology Unit with duties that include: Assessing patients during on-site visits, assisting Mohs surgeon with procedures and surgeries including Mohs surgery, facial reconstruction, laser treatments, teaching patients about wound care and sun protection, answering phones and assisting at front desk when needed, compliance with sterile surgical technique and HIPAA guidelines, insurance verification, surgical instrument care and set-up, maintenance of Autoclave and OSHA compliance, rooming patients and taking vitals, room change over and cleaning/processing rooms for surgery, assisting in clinic.
Must be able to work in a high energy, team atmosphere and poses strong organizational and communication skills as well as have a keen eye for detail. Must have excellent integrity and kindness, while assisting in daily patient care and be forward thinking.
Minimum 1-years medical assisting experience is highly desirable in a dermatology office. Strong phone and in-person communication skills is a must, as is the ability to efficiently multi-task and project a caring and friendly demeanor. Basic knowledge about MIPS, HIPAA, and OSHA is a bonus. Recent college grads looking to become Physician Assistants are welcome and encouraged to apply! As the office is iPad and Mac based, using Modernizing Medicine (EMA) EMR, the qualified candidate should have good computer skills.
