Job Description:

As the General Manager of FreezPak Logistics Chicago, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of our facilities. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, optimizing processes, and maintaining the highest standards of service quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing workforce, ensuring that staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles.
  1. Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of frozen and refrigerated goods.
  • Implement best practices and efficient processes to maximize operational productivity and minimize costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  1. Customer Relations:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring that service levels meet or exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for business expansion and develop customized solutions for clients.
  1. Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including food safety standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring that financial targets are met while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Analyze financial performance and operational costs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and technological advancements to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the logistics or warehousing industry, with a strong track record of operational excellence and business growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes, particularly in the frozen and refrigerated goods sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve performance targets and operational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers, employees, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive execution.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to food safety, health, and safety.
