Nitto Inc is seeking a n Engineering Supervisor for our manufacturing facility located in Lakewood, NJ. The engineering supervisors' responsibilities include analyzing existing electrical systems and making cost-effective improvements, conducting research, designing testing methods, completing quality assurance, inspecting the equipment, running diagnostics, as well as training new hires. You should ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.

KEY DECISIONS/DIMENSIONS: • Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical design plans and work schedules. • Liaising with production and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications. • Establishing relationships with production managers, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks. • Maintaining and improving existing engineering processes. • Participating in conferences, events, and networking and learning opportunities. • Analyzing existing processes and scheduling meetings to discuss equipment improvement initiatives. • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment. • Assisting with recruitment, training, and onboarding. • Ensuring a safe, positive work environment. • Design and modify control and instrumentation circuits. • Support and maintain production equipment and utilities related to electrical controls and instrumentation problems. • Modify software and hardware for PLC based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Automation Direct and Mitsubishi). • Maintains and prepares PM and calibration systems and documents. • Coordinate's design, fabrication, and installation of new production equipment. • Support safety functions such as Risk Assessments and modifications. • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. • Strong understanding of working with motors, scales, web handling, thermocouples, and sensors. • Ability to use electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams together with plc software to troubleshoot, or make improvements in machine operation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: (# of direct reports) This job requires supervision of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required. • Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial applications experience in related fields; instrumentation, control, and power distribution systems; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES: (Preferred or Required) • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. • Practical experience with CAD software is required. • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills. • Excellent motivational skills and multitasking abilities. • Strong project management skills. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry is required. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.
