Description:
We seek a highly skilled Systems Architect to join a dedicated team supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This pivotal role involves maintaining and enhancing network infrastructures, software systems, and hardware, such as standalone workstations and laptops. The ideal candidate will ensure these systems operate efficiently, comply with evolving security standards, and support developing and implementing new technologies.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the network, software systems, and related hardware to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Conduct regular updates, replacements, and upgrades to network file servers and other critical hardware components.
Travel to various customer sites to perform preventative and regular maintenance on networks and related hardware and software components.
Support the development and deployment of new technologies, including documentation, data exporting, and transition planning.
Conduct engineering analyses and contribute to the development of software, hardware, and network improvements.
Ensure compliance with customer security practices and accreditation requirements.
Design, develop, maintain, and ensure quality assurance of webpages and web-based software applications.
Ensure software compatibility with the latest operating systems and conduct database design within designated software areas.
Develop tools for simplified software installation and remote system administration, particularly for operations at remote sites.
Requirements:
Proven experience in systems architecture, including designing project plans, estimating costs, and managing schedules.
Strong capability in presenting system architecture choices to management, including risk assessments and recommendations.
Security Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
In-depth knowledge of database systems, servers, and network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and standalone systems.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Smalltalk, Python, and Objective-C, and familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with SQL databases and applying best quality assurance and configuration management practices.
Expertise in evaluating new hardware and software to provide procurement recommendations and ensuring system component compatibility.
Optional Skills & Experience:
Experience providing technical consultations to customers and understanding security accreditation practices and procedures.
Knowledge in deploying and managing cloud solutions and understanding cloud architecture concepts.
Additional programming skills in Java, C++, and the development of multi-user GUI-based applications and databases, particularly for Mac OS environments.
Experience in developing applications compatible with Android and iOS.
