Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Systems Architect to support a crucial initiative for a Department of Homeland Security program. This position involves maintaining, supporting, and enhancing existing software systems and platforms, troubleshooting complex issues, providing exceptional customer support, and collaborating with diverse teams. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in cloud services, particularly Amazon Web Services, Linux server administration, web application support, and experience with non-relational databases and build automation technologies. A CNCF Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
Provide continuous maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems and platforms to ensure operational excellence.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software system problems to maintain service and functionality.
Deliver high-quality customer support for software applications, ensuring user satisfaction and system reliability.
Work collaboratively with team members across functions, including data scientists, analysts, project managers, and engineers, to achieve project goals and deliverables.
Manage and support web applications, ensuring robust functionality and server stability.
Engage with cloud-based infrastructure and services to optimize performance and scalability of applications.
Requirements:
Extensive experience with Amazon Cloud Services (AWS), including designing and managing cloud architecture.
Strong background in Linux server administration and web application support.
Security Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Proven ability to create and manage documentation within source code repositories and project management tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
Experience in using and managing non-relational databases, including MySQL, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
Skilled in build automation technologies such as Jenkins, Rundeck, or comparable tools.
Must possess an active CNCF Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
Optional Desired Skills & Experience:
Experience in supporting technical processing and vetting of support requests for analytical assessments.
Knowledge of computer processing platforms, including mobile and IoT, within clustered computing environments.
Demonstrated capability in designing AWS architectures specifically for screening and vetting applications.
Proficiency in creating Packer scripts for automating EC2 AMI builds.
Experience in scripting with Bash for the automated deployment of services like Elastic, RabbitMQ, MySQL, and Apache Tomcat.
