Position Summary

Customer oriented position to weigh customer trucks and issuing proof of purchase. Perform tasks involving physical labor on-site. Will operate water truck and other pieces of equipment as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Weighing customer trucks and issuing proof of purchase

  • Collecting payments

  • Working with internal and external customers to ensure delivery

  • Operate Water Truck

  • Be able to cut steel and weld steel

  • Clean or prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards.

  • Adjust handwheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, or brooms.

  • Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes.

  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads and machinery within a busy environment

  • Drive and maneuver equipment in a safe manner

  • Load and move dirt, rocks, debris or other materials using a variety of equipment i.e. sweeper, shovels or related equipment.

  • Check fuel and other general maintenance on equipment

  • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, or materials to ensure items are in usable condition.

  • Engage in good work procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety

  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist in repairs as needed

Other Requirements


  • Ensure compliance with company policies or procedures

  • Familiar with aggregate operations.

  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Report to the assigned job site with appropriate personal protective equipment and ready to begin work at the designated start time.

  • Overtime may be necessary during the prime operating months.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.

  • Strict adherence to Dolomite policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Handbook.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Qualifications


  • Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.

  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to applicable federal, state and local regulations is a must.


Education & Experience


  • 1-2 years' experience within an aggregate operations environment preferred.

  • Strong communication skills a plus

  • Valid State Driver's license.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements


  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Have proficient computer skills with web based applications, Excel and MS Office products.

Physical Demand & Environment

Walking, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and traveling over irregular terrain. Some tasks involve: prolonged periods of standing and/or exposure to noise or weather, good motor coordination, finger dexterity, and color discrimination. All essential duties must be performed without posing a direct threat to their own, or others, health and safety, with or without the use of a reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
