Key Responsibilities:


- Dive deep into the hotel's accounting and control systems, making proactive changes and providing essential retraining to staff for smoother and more efficient operations.


- Be the guardian of our daily Income Journal process, ensuring seamless integration with other systems, accurate recording of transactions, proper tax collection, and minimal manual adjustments, all while ensuring meticulous handling of supporting documents.


- Keep a keen eye on Accounts Payable, ensuring approvals are in place, invoices are processed accurately, and payments are made promptly.


- Take charge of Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely billing, smooth transitions from Guest to City Ledger, and implementing robust collection processes.


- Keep key payments on track, including state and local taxes, insurance, and regulatory fees, ensuring they're made on time.


- Lead the month-end closing process with precision, delivering draft P&L reports along with insightful analysis, closing after approval by our Regional Vice President Hotel Finance/Regional Director of Finance, and delivering final P&L reports along with any necessary ownership reports.


- Maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliations diligently, ensuring they're completed promptly and supported by accurate documentation.


- Step into the role of Acting-Director of Finance when needed, providing guidance, oversight, and training to our accounting team, and assisting in forecasting and budgeting activities.


- Prepare all necessary audit documentation and support auditors as directed by our Regional Vice President Hotel Finance/Regional Director of Finance.


- And of course, tackle any other tasks that come your way with enthusiasm and expertise.

Qualifications



- Ideally, a degree from a four-year college with a focus on accounting.


- Five years of experience in related roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.


- A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, including accounts payable/receivable, income audit, payroll, and financial statement preparation.


- Proven experience in training team members with varying skill levels and backgrounds.


- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.


- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


- Familiarity with GAAP and USALI.


- And be ready to hit the road - this role involves frequent travel, usually on a weekly basis, so flexibility and adaptability are key.


- Ability to travel 90%+
