Job Description:

The Network Infrastructure Administrator is a vital role focused on maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted services and communication. This role involves continuous monitoring, event logging, resolving network issues, and enforcing network and audit standards and policies. The administrator will work to ensure the network infrastructure supports all necessary business and technological applications round the clock. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining a comprehensive infrastructure strategy, managing application security in alignment with applicable policies and standards, and providing technical expertise for IT projects related to network infrastructure and security.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Perform daily operations to maintain network stability, including traffic monitoring, analysis, and configuration.
  • Maintain and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPNs.
  • Provide expertise and support for communication, networking, and security projects.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Update, upgrade, and support network infrastructure as required.
  • Supervise junior network support staff and assist in technical specification preparation.
  • Establish a comprehensive network management system adhering to best practices and standards.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure business continuity and service availability.
  • Investigate, resolve, and document technical issues related to network and applications.
  • Liaise with teams and external vendors, serving as a consultant for technology solutions and future technologies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in network infrastructure, systems, applications, and security.
  • Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching, network architecture, and relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP preferred).
  • Experience with wireless network installation and support, including designing networks across physical and virtual environments.
  • Solid experience in network security and familiarity with technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco Call Manager, and VMWARE.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and deliver quality customer service.
  • Up-to-date with technological developments and trends in the field.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience supporting LAN/WAN, telecommunications networks, and Cisco UCS/ACI infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance, including experience with IPv4 networks, Wireshark, and Visio for network documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in network engineering or administration.
  • 5 years of experience in network administration with Cisco certification.
  • Experience in campus networks and the education sector is a plus.
