Job Description:

About Us:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation harnesses the power of business to create solutions for the good of America and the world. We anticipate, develop, and deploy solutions to challenges facing communities-today and tomorrow.

Specifically, our experts-

  • Convene and coordinate with businesses and public leaders to take immediate action in moments of unanticipated crisis.
  • Explore frontier issues, test new ideas, and suggest novel approaches to address big-picture challenges that will impact the future.
  • Work with businesses to provide practical solutions for wider adoption, participation, and engagement.

An important part of our work focuses on civics, democracy, and the nation's free enterprise system. These are crucial issues shaping the environment in which businesses operate and their ability to prosper and lift communities. We are dedicated to elevating civics as a national priority through nonpartisan activities focused on civics literacy and civics at work.

We are committed to our employees, and as part of our team we will support your long-term career development while delivering relevant learning opportunities. We will empower you to lead, develop deep expertise, and find new approaches to solving the toughest challenges.

Position Summary:

As part of our mission to increase civics knowledge, skills, and disposition in every community across America, we're expanding our Civics at Work portfolio. We're looking for an innovative and entrepreneurial professional to pilot and launch new projects that drive solutions to some of our biggest challenges-declining support for democracy, increasing polarization, and a significant lack of understanding of how our political and economic systems work. You will work with internal and external partners to develop, test, and scale projects across the Civics at Work portfolio. You will also execute against strategic objectives, measure outputs, and ensure that projects achieve their desired impact.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the Civics at Work portfolio, including projects related to Nonpartisan Election Poll Workers, Juror Education, and Civics Education at Work.
  • Identify and select strategic partners to develop content and communications plans and measure outputs and impact.
  • Identify and work with employers across the country to pilot and implement Civics at Work projects with their employees.
  • Deploy pre- and post-surveys and other feedback mechanisms to collect data and insights on the learnings and successes of each project.
  • Maintain accurate and current data in Salesforce that tracks key information on employers and employees that participate in our pilots and other projects.
  • Lead regular check-in meetings with partners and consultants.
  • Perform additional tasks across the Foundation's civics portfolio, working at the direction of senior personnel in a matrixed structure that is intended to promote collaboration and efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed (requirements):

  • We do not require a minimum level of education. Applicants should have 5+ years of relevant experience in an organization with complex operations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Growth mindset.
  • Ability to conduct and summarize research.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and cloud-based applications.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud platforms or equivalent or a willingness to learn.

What will make you an exceptional team member (preferences):

  • Effective decision making with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, intellectually curious, creative, and team orientated.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow with the team.
  • Existing interest in civics and economics.

How you can grow with us:

As you excel within the responsibilities listed above, this position provides the opportunity for additional professional development and greater ownership over civics programs and workflows.
