Project Coordinator/Scheduler

On-Site Requirements (Ashburn, Chantilly, Stonebridge VA)

6 month Contract

$40+/hr. OR DOE

We are hiring a Project Coordinator to join the Data Center team at one of our largest Fortune 50 Technology clients in the Northern Virginia area. With multiple high-impact projects in flight, schedule management is needed to help coordinate project milestones and project direction. Some projects have over 8,000 lines of schedules with multiple interdependencies that need maintenance and operational support. The Scheduler tool the PMO team uses is Microsoft Project, which is a skillset required for success in this role. As the Project Coordinator, you will also coordinate the project work, assist with quality control of the data center operations and lead resource allocation efforts.

As the Project Coordinator, you are highly ambitious with a background in scheduling/project management following a Project Manager career path. You have eagerness to support enterprise-wide projects and are passionate about furthering their career in project management/coordination. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 yrs. of experience in a project support, project coordination or project management role (construction background preferred)
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Projects and/or MPP.
  • Professional experience with project controls and schedule management.
  • Experience with document management, coordinating schedules and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication.
  • Independent worker with positive and inclusive attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.

Preferred Requirements:
  • CAPM, CSM, PMP or similar certification is a plus!

Your Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide quality assurance to existing schedules for projects.
  • Support operational goals for large projects by tracking milestones, timelines and project controls.
  • Using Microsoft Projects, manage project schedules surrounding all phases of design, build, test and development.
  • Manage project controls (including but not limited to: issues, risks and action items).
  • Analyze project best practices to ensure all projects are in compliance.
  • Understand Project Management disciplines.
  • Create and socialize documentation, when needed.
  • Tracking and coordination of attendees on-site.
  • Logistics assistance.
