We Are Looking For Someone Like You

We are seeking a talented Union Sheet Metal VC (Virtual Construction) Detailer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed VC models and drawings for various sheet metal projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed VC models and drawings for sheet metal systems including ductwork, HVAC, and other related components.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foreman, and other team members to understand project requirements and goals.
  • Utilize VC software (such as Revit) to create accurate 3D models, coordinating with other trades as necessary.
  • Generate construction documents, shop drawings, and fabrication details based on VC models.
  • Perform clash detection and resolution to identify and resolve conflicts in the VC model.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in VC technology.

Requirements:
  • SMART Local 9 Union membership or willingness to join Local 9 union and be accepted
  • Proven experience as a VC Designer or similar role in the sheet metal industry.
  • Proficiency in VC software, particularly Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Skilled proficiency with using Microsoft products (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, standards, and codes.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Self motivated / self-starter, looks to make progress on projects without being told what to do step by step.
  • Identifies and raises constructability questions for team.
  • Engage with and take direction from shop and field foreman.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson with 5+ years field experience.
  • Professional certifications in VC software or sheet metal design.
  • Experience working on unionized construction projects.
