Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff ("CoS") will partner with the CEO (direct report) and executive leadership team to develop/refine and execute a Value Creation Plan, including strategic, commercial, operational, organization, and financial initiatives. In many ways, the CoS will be an extension of the CEO and a critical "mini-CEO" of the business. The CoS will partner closely with the CFO to ensure all critical financial plan parameters are made transparent. They will work closely with business leaders and shareholders, creating transparency and visibility by tracking progress and enabling better and faster decision making, and results predictability.
• Lead strategic planning; synthesize input and create strategy(s) by business unit / geography, aligned with corporate strategy; support development and alignment of functional strategies, goals, and objectives;
• Maintain and update the strategic plan; incorporate new market and organizational insights;
• Prepare updates and insights for monthly meetings and reports, board meetings, or other as required;
• Prepare and lead "value creation" updates with the CEO and to the Board (likely every 2-3 weeks), updating on business progress and growth initiatives
• Lead the integration and growth of the Company's smaller HVAC service line (today $20M of revenue)
• Support design and drive completion of critical initiatives in alignment with the business strategy/plan; drive organization forward and hold accountable those responsible for daily actions and initiatives; provide analytical support to the wider organization and transformation team; ensure things get done;
• Partner with the business/Sales to develop detailed go-to-market plans; work closely Operations team (e.g., material procurement, labor staffing, etc.); drive achievement of long-term growth, annual revenue, and profitability goals; work with the business to identify and assess new markets, products and technology opportunities;
• Act as the face for the CEO's growth and value plan, set the tone, spur enthusiasm; challenge current wisdom and support the team; help leaders accelerate execution; provide structure and consistency to internal discussions;
• Orchestrate complex processes that involve a large number of discrete tasks; coordinate cross-functional initiatives;
• Validate all efforts/initiatives with facts, data and independent analysis; provide valued processes and tools ;
• Act as a role model; encourage and imbed behaviors required for change;
