The ExxonMobil Foundation Houston STEM LLC was established to invest directly in students' futures through high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities at our Teen Engineering & Tech Centers (TETC).

Job Summary:

As the Site Director for the TETC, you will lead and be the primary point of contact. Your role is crucial in increasing the number of teens from underserved communities interested in engineering, providing them with the necessary math and science skills to pursue an engineering career. The position is based in Houston, with the first two TETC locations opening in Fall 2024 and plans for national and global expansion.

Primary Job Functions:
  • Lead student recruitment in partnership with local schools and nonprofits, aiming for about 200 student visits per week.
  • Manage the Center's efforts to promote academic success and enhance engineering skills.
  • Implement Center programming, including makerspace curriculum and academic support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools and community partners.
  • Manage a team of 7-10 individuals, focusing on team culture and result-driven implementation of the TETC model.
  • Develop strategies, budgets, and project management plans for the Center.

Job Requirements:
  • Passion for implementing innovative programs that enhance student learning and outcomes.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in team leadership and management.
  • Experience working with first-generation and/or low-income students.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic conditions.
  • Proven project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education or related discipline.
  • Experience in STEM teaching, especially in laboratory/makerspace environments.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
