We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Development Manager to join our team. The Product Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the development and enhancement of our custom team sportswear product line. This individual will lead a team of product development specialists to conceptualize, design, and bring to market innovative and high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Speed to market is critical element of our product development department.
Responsibilities
Lead the product development process from ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of new products.
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, design, and manufacturing teams to understand market trends, customer feedback, and business objectives.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
Develop product specifications, including materials, features, and performance requirements, in alignment with customer needs and brand standards.
Manage the product life cycle, including product planning, pricing, forecasting, and inventory management.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials, negotiate pricing, and maintain quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product development processes and enhance efficiency.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for product safety, quality, and performance.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentor ship to the product development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, fashion design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in product development, preferably in the custom sportswear industry, with a track record of successfully launching new products.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive teams to achieve objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for innovation and creativity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Illustrator.
Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape in the custom sportswear industry.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
