Responsibilities:
Manage contractor and client relationships and team communication through all phases
Lead a large multidisciplinary team, coordinating the work through all phases.
Conduct meetings and work sessions including large client teams and contractors
Lead design presentations to clients, stakeholders and gov't agencies
Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases.
Lead and participate in the production of architectural contract documents in all phases, coordinating the workload of all staff members to complete documents on schedule.
Perform QC/QA and technical reviews, maintain project manual and specifications
Perform bid reviews, assisting the owner with bid phase activities.
Perform construction contract administration including on-site observations, mock up reviews; preparing and coordinating bulletins; processing submittals, RFIs and standard forms.
Perform project close out duties.
Resolve complex technical and design issues; perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection and application of non-standard techniques and procedures
Anticipate and plan for any roadblocks for overall project success with thorough understanding of contractual responsibilities, schedule and budget
Advocate for design excellence while meeting client and project objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed Architect in TX, with a professional degree in Architecture
10-15+ years of relevant experience as a project architect with strong background in multi floor (10+ stories)
Proficiency in the preparation, coordination and development of architectural contract documents through all phases on mid-large scale, complex projects.
Experience resolving complex details for a range of exterior envelope systems, site conditions, building systems and higher types of construction.
Experience working with various agencies and jurisdiction on complex permits with modifications, entitlements and special approvals.
Experience managing multiple aspects of client and project coordination with a large team. Must have strong communication, organization and relationship management skills, capable to work effectively in a range of roles, depending on the team structure.
