PO&G Resources is a rapidly growing, twenty-four year old private oil and gas company. With the successful closing of several recent producing property acquisitions and the launch of a second investor fund, the company is currently hiring a Production Superintendent in our Houston headquarters office who will be responsible for overseeing the company's field operations.

PO&G acquires conventional and unconventional oil and gas properties and increases their value by improving operations such as artificial lift, water flood optimization, and vertical infill drilling. The company's current oil and gas properties are located in: Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Indiana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Utah and Mississippi. West Texas, Wyoming, and Oklahoma are the company's largest operating regions. Current gross / net production is 5,000 / 3,500 BOE/D. The company plans to continue its historical growth rate by doubling production every three years.

Position - Production Superintendent

We are seeking a key individual to fill the position of Production Superintendent. The candidate will be responsible for actively directing the firm's field operations. The candidate is responsible for working with the engineering and field personnel to manage daily field and workover operations, production levels, and costs for a portfolio of approximately 400 of the company's wells and associated assets.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Managing lease profitability, production, and cost targets.
  • Supervising field personnel to achieve production and cost targets and responding to production misses.
  • Monitoring and optimizing chemical program and well production testing system.
  • Assisting the engineering team in the optimization of waterflood operations including: surface facilities, chemical program, and injection pattern balancing.
  • Overseeing field personnel in researching vendor selection at the company's production operations.
  • Optimizing artificial lift methods including rod pumps and ESPs and managing the execution through field personnel.
  • Overseeing the execution of capital investment projects.
  • Coordinating with company regulatory analyst to obtain drilling, salt water disposal, and other state regulatory filings.

Qualifications: A minimum fifteen years of practical field experience with an oil and gas operator with a minimum of five years of direct supervision of field personnel. A broad exposure to all aspects of production operations including artificial lift design, surface facilities, production chemicals, and water injection.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills as well as an ability to multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills to efficiently direct the field personnel and apprise management of operational performance and issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with management, field personnel, and engineering team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • The candidate will possess strong expertise and understanding of artificial lift designs and optimization as applied to conventional oil wells (particularly rod pump and ESP).
  • Self-starter who can pro-actively manage the company's production and cost targets and pro-actively communicate with engineers, field personnel and management.
  • Practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving; hands on manager.
