Job Description:

Plan, direct, manage, and own the new product processes in the Electronics Lock Organization. Provide leadership working with global cross-functional team members with emphasis on meeting key metrics and objectives (quality, cost, and duration).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

(100%) Electronics Project Leader
  • New electronic lock Product Introductions and Sustaining Projects
  • Drive and oversee global electronic lock projects with strict focus on speed to market in a highly competitive and fast paced environment.
  • Lead cross functional team, working towards the common goal of introducing new or changing products with focus on meeting key metrics including but not limited to scope, cost, quality, and timing.
  • Collaborate, motivate, with cross functional departments including Electronics Hardware, Software (Firmware, Cloud and App), Mechanical engineering teams, Manufacturing Sites, Industrial Design, Packaging, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Assure manufacturing process capabilities, electrical and mechanical, are evaluated, communicated, and integrated into the overall product design (Design for Manufacturability).
  • Maintain communication channels with Executive Leadership, plant management staff and functional team leaders regarding project status and network/production strategies.
  • Support adherence to the global new product and sustaining roadmaps, project milestone process and metrics.
  • Manage change control process limiting impact to project teams by approving or rejecting change requests to project scope.
  • Manages/reports out on projects in all areas including budget, product costs, product quality, productivity, safety, ergonomic, environmental, space and timing limitations.
  • Report out monthly to Executive Leadership at Product Development Reviews.
  • Execute risk management via identification, quantification, mitigation, and accountability.
  • Develop and execute project plans for sustaining projects that drive running the business by improving products, improving cost, conducting quality investigations, protecting supply chain, and supporting manufacturing process while protecting the business and customer.
  • Maintain Jira/SharePoint/other tools with accurate information for each project.

Education and Experience Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Electrical, or equivalent. Master's in engineering or MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years plus combined electronic manufacturing, engineering, operations, manufacturing / process engineering, sourcing, purchasing, with proven negotiating skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of Project management experience in the electronics Industry preferably Consumer Electronics Industry driving New Product Introductions and/or Sustaining Projects
  • PCB, PCBA, SMT, Electrical Test, Functional test experience, Operations management preferred.
  • PMP - Project Management Certification Preferred
  • Must be able to thrive in a team-based, matrix, fast-paced environment.
  • Manage deadlines, team morale, and motivate others to complete work on time.
  • Able to travel (sometimes on short notice) as required by various work assignments. (Up to 25%)

Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of consumer electronics industry, manufacturing, quality, testing procedures
  • Working knowledge of project milestones methodology
  • Project management utilizing Microsoft Project or similar software.
  • Ability to simplify and breakdown complex issues; develop, plan, and execute.
  • Ability to take ambiguity and turn it into tangible needs.
  • Proactive problem-solving identification: solving problems with the ability to assess risk/benefit and to act decisively on findings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Effective computer skills familiar with Microsoft Windows applications, especially Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook. Jira is a plus.
  • Skilled at leading cross functional teams and thriving in a global team-based environment.
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Proficiency with handling multiple concurrent projects with flexibility on changing priorities

Work Environment:
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Hybrid work in office 3 days/week.

Pay Range: $97,326-$142,745.

This "base salary range" is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
