Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Plant Manager who plays a pivotal role in upholding their core values, which prioritize safety, quality, delivery, and cost control. The primary objective is to ensure the success of our customers, foster a supportive team environment, pursue excellence, and maximize profitability. This position entails overseeing personnel and daily operations within a cabinet manufacturing plant, adhering to established policies and procedures through the utilization of the company's Production Control Management System.

Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervise production and manufacturing processes within the plant.
  • Establish and cultivate a world-class safety environment, fostering a behavioral-based safety culture.
  • Assist in planning and establishing plant budgets.
  • Ensure timely and complete delivery to customers.
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality of processed cabinetry.
  • Oversee daily preventive maintenance activities in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure completion of scheduled work within designated time frames.
  • Lead by example in adherence to attendance, PPE use, breaks, and overall compliance.
  • Maintain facility and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Stay informed about advancements in manufacturing methodologies and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor plant performance metrics and objectives, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Manage manufacturing costs within budgetary constraints and lead cost-saving initiatives.
  • Foster positive employee relations while safeguarding the company's interests.
  • Plan staffing levels to meet production requirements and ensure optimal work efficiency.
  • Facilitate cross-training initiatives to ensure seamless operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, applying lean best practices to reduce waste.
  • Transform the facility into a best-in-class LEAN operation through the deployment of appropriate LEAN tools.
  • Develop and execute growth plans, actively promoting the facility to attract new customers and increase profitable business.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain organization and other stakeholders to implement best practices across warehouses.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in setting up banders for optimal performance.
  • Strong sense of urgency in achieving hourly goals.
  • Basic proficiency in English language (reading and writing).
  • Innovative leader with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizational change.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional coaching and team leadership abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and mediation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • College degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of extensive manufacturing plant leadership experience.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks in a factory environment, including heavy lifting.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including weekends, based on business needs.

Note: Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, and knowledge of wood manufacturing is preferred.
