Develop and drive the Plant Materials Management strategy and goals along with identifying and tracking key measurables to support the goals.
Coordinate activities to maintain accurate inventory levels ensuring that production schedules meet or exceed customer requirements.
Forecast customer demand for monthly and weekly budget requirements as well as planning capacity needs for the facility.
Train and delegate responsibilities to Materials Associates to always support sustainable performance meeting customer demands and Materials metrics.
Responsible for the coaching and mentoring of Plant Materials Management Team by providing constructive feedback with regards to Associate performance.
Establish partnerships with Plant Management Team to meet production goals.
Drive cost reduction using systematic approach identifying waste through continuous improvement for products and processes.
Ensure the Plant Materials Management Team manage schedule adherence notifying and escalating within the facility.
This role is part of the Bluffton Plant Management Team, reports to the Plant Manager and has direct reports that include Materials Supervisors, Master Scheduler and Materials Analyst.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
Some College or Bachelor's in Materials Management or related field; or equivalent education and experience. Progressive Materials Management career in an automotive environment a plus.
3+ years' experience as a Materials Manager in an automotive manufacturing environment; metal stamping a plus.
Proven experience in Plant Materials Management including inventory controls, materials flow within the Plant, production scheduling, continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer demands.
Solid understanding of material planning, inventory management principles and best practices in the automotive industry.
Demonstrate leadership style that engages, supports, and encourages an effective Materials Management Team while building their career development.
Proven record of developing Materials Management efficiency, meeting KPIs metrics including data analysis, reports, and accurate documentation to OEM customers.
Advance proficiency with Materials Management, ERP and MS Office systems.
