Head of People & Culture

MHA is seeking an entrepreneurial Head of People & Culture to lead our People function and drive the development of a premier team culture for our staff of approximately 50 individuals. The goal of this pivotal position is to execute all HR functions, elevate organizational culture, and enhance employee success through strategic programming and professional development initiatives.

This newly created role offers a remarkable opportunity for an ambitious, mission-driven individual with previous experience in human resources, talent acquisition, and people operations. We are seeking someone who thrives on creativity, is deeply passionate about organizational culture and is interested in making a positive impact on the Massachusetts healthcare community.

This is a full-time role with a hybrid work schedule based out of MHA's Burlington, MA office.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute best-in-class HR strategies and initiatives aligned with MHA's business objectives and culture, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing improvements to existing processes.
  • Address and respond to all employee relations issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with members of MHA's leadership team to devise and execute a strategic plan for organizational culture, employee success, and people operations.
  • Develop and drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, inclusiveness, and overall well-being.
  • Lead the development and implementation of training and professional development programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
  • Lead the end-to-end recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
  • Manage employee relations issues with equity, empathy, and professionalism, fostering a culture of open communication and trust.
  • Manage employee benefits, including annual reenrollment process and liaising with benefit plan vendors and addressing employee questions and issues.
  • Manage the performance review and compensation program for staff.
  • Work closely with Payroll/Accounting staff to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HRIS data and employee records.

Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in the workplace, including a minimum of 2 years in HR roles.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of HR competency areas.
  • Knowledge of HR software and experience leveraging technology-enabled solutions.
  • Desire to cultivate a best-in-class People function for a forward-thinking and mission-driven organization with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal, communication and active listening skills.
  • Self-starter with the capacity to be resourceful, exercise sound judgment and maintain discretion in sensitive and confidential matters.
