Job Description:

Aerovel is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team and be a key contributor to our Supply Chain and Operations team. This dynamic position requires someone interested in working in a small team environment with a dynamic pace and broad responsibilities. The prospective candidate will be a self-starter with a demonstrated record of hands-on contribution, curiosity, and development. Aerovel is led by the aeronautical veterans who invented and developed the Group 2 small tactical unmanned aerial system (STUAS), a backbone of US military and allied intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions worldwide. The Group 2 UAS systems have contributed significantly to the effectiveness of US and allied troops as well as their safety and security. Aerovel Flexrotor is the most advanced STUAS with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It is designed for the demanding reliability and specifications required by the US Department of Defense (DOD) while being affordable for commercial applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Provide both tactical and strategic purchasing leadership and action
• Manage the life cycle of the procurement process, generating RFQ's, negotiating and issuing contracts and ensuring accurate and on-time delivery from the supply chain
• Ensure supply chain effectivity through strong data driven metrics and proactive communication
• Negotiate favorable contracts and terms including price, quality, and lead time. Includes coordination for new product release integration into the supply chain
• Work closely with engineers to identify improvement opportunities, including DFM activities, long term strategic agreements and strategic supplier relationships
• Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership in communication and end product work

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent with 5+ years progressive purchasing, procurement, and experience.
• ISM, APICS or related professional certification desirable
• Experience utilizing engineering drawings and CAD models for quoting, sourcing, and purchasing materials and equipment
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP software and systems; experience using Deltek software preferred
• Personal knowledge of effective supply chain management
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills working in a diverse technology driven environment
• Demonstrated negotiating experience
• Experience managing contracts and agreements
• Hands on knowledge of supplier performance monitoring to drive cost, quality, and delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated proficiency using data analytics tools
